Institutions and organizations

  • APHA – „APHA champions the health of all people and all communities. We strengthen the public health profession. We speak out for public health issues and policies backed by science. We are the only organization that influences federal policy, has a 140-plus year perspective and brings together members from all fields of public health”.
  • European Public Health Association – „The European Public Health Association, or EUPHA in short, is an umbrella organisation for public health associations and institutes in Europe. EUPHA was founded in 1992 by 15 members (12 countries)”.
  • WFPHA - “The WFPHA is an international, nongovernmental organization composed of over100 associations member, mostly multidisciplinary national public health associations, and representing around 1 million public health professionals worldwide. It is the only worldwide professional society representing and serving the broad field of public health. WFPHA’s mission is to promote and protect global public health. It does this throughout the world by supporting the establishment and organizational development of public health associations and societies of public health, through facilitating and supporting the exchange of information, knowledge and the transfer of skills and resources, and through promoting and undertaking advocacy for public policies, programs and practices that will result in a healthy and productive world”.
  • UKPHA - “Our mission states that through our members, activities and co-operation with others, we aim to be a unifying and powerful voice for the public’s health and wellbeing in the UK, focusing on the need to eliminate inequalities in health, promote sustainable development and combat anti-health forces”.
