The American Medical Association’s Code of Ethics ; sections 5.05 – 5.10 contain opinions on confidentiality, advertising, and communications media relations.

British Medical Association – Tool Kit . It is made up of 16 cards covering specific areas of confidentiality relating to children, adults who lack capacity and the deceased as well as the secondary uses of information. Good Medical Practice: A Code of Conduct for Doctors in Australia developed by a working party of Australian Medical Council.

Confidentiality (2009) sets out the principles of confidentiality and respect for patients' privacy that doctors are expected to understand and follow.” These module was developed by General Medical Counsil and contains “explanatory guidance explaining how these principles apply in situations doctors often encounter or find hard to deal with; (…) a range of learning materials, including case studies, a PowerPoint presentation for teaching others, and a literature review.
