  • Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs – „The Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs, Inc.   • Gerontological Society of America – „We are the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to research, education, and practice in the field of aging. GSA’s principal mission – and that of our 5,500 members – is to advance the study of aging and disseminate information among scientists, decision makers, and the general public”.
  • http://www.hkgs.org/ – Founded in 1981, the Hong Kong Geriatrics Society (HKGS) is a non-profit professional society for geriatricians and other medical practitioners with an interest in medical care of older people. The society strives to represent the needs of its members and the Hong Kong society, older people in particular. It aims to review and improve the care of the older people in Hong Kong. Its major roles are in geriatric education and training, improving standards of geriatric medicine, geriatric research and making recommendations on government policy concerning older people. According to the report of the Hong Kong College of Physicians (May 2014 issue), geriatric medicine is the second largest specialty after Cardiology, with 180 fellows in geriatric medicine in Hong Kong. At present, there are around 250 members in the Hong Kong Geriatrics Society”.
  • Austrian Society for Geriatrics – „The Austrian Society for Geriatrics and Gerontology was established in 1955. It is a non-profit organization, a scientific association with the aims of promoting research of aging and of geriatric and gerontologic knowledge”.
  • Hungarian Association of Gerontology – „In 1958 the Gerontological Section of the Hungarian Biological Association was founded. It was led by László Haranghy. In 1956 Hungary became a member of IAG and one decade later the Hungarian Association of Gerontology (HAG) was established. From the late sixties the scientific activity on the medical, clinical and sociological fields of gerontology gradually increased. The team of the contemporary Hungarian Research Institute on Gerontology played important role in this development”.
  • Irish Society of Physicans In Geriatric Medicine – „Founded 1st June 1979 Membership restricted to hospital consultants in geriatric medicine practising in the Republic of Ireland”.
  • National Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics „Ana Aslan” - The Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics was founded in 1952 as the first institution of this kind by Decision of the Ministerial Cabinet. In 1974 it became a National Institute and in 1974 it took the name of „Ana Aslan”. From its beginnings the Institute was led by Prof. Acad. Ana Aslan M.D.until 1988. It has had medical geriatric assistance and social gerontology research as main activities. The Institute was commended in 1964 as a model of geriatric institution by WHO.
  • Swedish Geriatric Association – „President of Swedish Geriatric Association (SGF) for the next two years will be Anne Ekdahl, medical director of an outpatient Geriatric Clinic of Norrkoping. The board consists of seven members and the president. The SGF representative at the EUGMS full board is ass. professor Ake Rundgren, Gothenburg. The journal of SGF is Nordisk Geriatrik (Nordic Geriatrics) with six issues per year. Important information and geriatric research of national interest can also be published in Journal of The Swedish Medical Association. Information and guidelines are also regularly placed on the website of SGF”.
  • Schweizerische Fachgesellschaft für Geriatrie/Societé Professionnelle Suisse der Gériatrie/Società Professionale Svizzera di Geriatria – „As an interdisciplinary professional organisation, SGG SSG networks between people and institutions committed to research into ageing processes and involved in care and practical work relating to old age. It is a professional body focusing on the subjects of "old age" and "ageing". As a national society, it represents Switzerland worldwide in the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG)”.
  • Turkish Geriatrics Society – „The Turkish Geriatrics Society is a national, neutral, nonprofit organization which aims to increase the standards in the field of geriatrics including education, patient care and treatment.
