Action on Hearing Loss – „Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID. We’re working for a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value and look after their hearing.We want:

  • people to acknowledge their hearing loss and take action

  • more support for people with hearing loss

  • no one to be isolated through their hearing loss

  • people to protect themselves against hearing loss and tinnitus

  • to cure hearing loss and tinnitus”.

Alliance for Technology Access (ATA) – „The mission of the ATA is to increase the use of technology by children and adults with disabilities and functional limitations. ATA encourages and facilitates the empowerment of people with disabilities to participate fully in their communities. Through public education, information and referral, capacity building in community organizations, and advocacy/policy efforts, the ATA enables millions of people to live, learn, work, define their futures, and achieve their dreams”.

American Association of People with Disabilities – „The American Association of People with Disabilities is the nation's largest disability rights organization. We promote equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation for people with disabilities. Our members, including people with disabilities and our family, friends, and supporters, represent a powerful force for change”.

American Association on Health and Disability - „The mission of AAHD is to advance health promotion and wellness initiatives for children and adults with disabilities. AAHD accomplishes its mission through advocacy, education, public awareness, and research efforts at the federal, state, and community levels”.

American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities - „AAIDD, (formerly AAMR - American Association on Mental Retardation) is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of professionals and citizens concerned about intellectual and developmental disabilities”.

American Council of the Blind – „The American Council of the Blind (ACB) was founded in 1961 but many of its state affiliates and local chapters have a history that can be traced back to the 1880s. Since its inception, ACB and its affiliates have been at the forefront of the creation of policies that have shaped the opportunities that are now available to people with disabilities in our country. ACB has also effectively collaborated with Vision Rehabilitation Service providers to develop the principles and values that should be at the heart of providing adjustment and placement services to people who are blind”.

American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today – „ADAPT is a national grass-roots community that organizes disability rights activists to engage in nonviolent direct action, including civil disobedience, to assure the civil and human rights of people with disabilities to live in freedom”.

American Foundation for the Blind – „The American Foundation for the Blind removes barriers, creates solutions, and expands possibilities so people with vision loss can achieve their full potential”.

Association for Children with Disability (Tas) Inc. - „ACD’s existence and direction is dictated by the needs of children with disabilities and their families. Our organisation has a growing concern for the lack of services, specialist and community, available to them”.

Association of University Centers on Disabilities – „The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs. Network members consist of:

  • 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), receiving core funding from the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AIDD)

  • 43 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Programs receiving core funding from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB)

Association for the Physically Disabled - „The Association for the Physically Disabled (APD) is a registered non-profit organisation helping people with most forms of physical disability”.

AUTCOM – „AUTCOM is the only autism advocacy organization dedicated to "Social Justice for All Citizens with Autism" through a shared vision and a commitment to positive approaches. Our organization was founded in 1990 to protect and advance the human rights and civil rights of all persons with autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and related differences of communication and behavior. In the face of social policies of devaluation, which are expressed in the practices of segregation, medicalization, and aversive conditioning, we assert that all individuals are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.

Autism Speaks – „Autism Speaks was founded in February 2005 by Bob and Suzanne Wright, grandparents of a child with autism. Their longtime friend Bernie Marcus donated $25 million to help financially launch the organization. Since then, Autism Speaks has grown into the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We are proud of what we've been able to accomplish and look forward to continued successes in the years ahead”.

Autistic Self Advocacy Network - „The Autistic Self Advocacy Network is a nonprofit organization run by and for Autistic people. ASAN was created to serve as a national grassroots disability rights organization for the Autistic community, and does so by advocating for systems change and ensuring that the voices of Autistic people are heard in policy debates and the halls of power while working to educate communities and improve public perceptions of autism. ASAN’s members and supporters include Autistic adults and youth, cross-disability advocates, and non-autistic family members, professionals, educators and friends”.

British Society for Disability and Oral Health – „The aim of this society is to bring together all those intrested in the oral care of people with disabilities”.

Canadian National Institute for the Blind – „CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life”.

Developmental Disabilities Association - „The Developmental Disabilities Association is a community living agency that provides over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in Vancouver and Richmond. We create extended networks of support, invest in individual needs, and strive for an inclusive and safe community. Over 1,600 individuals and families in the Vancouver and Richmond area are serviced by the Developmental Disabilities Association every year”.

Disabled in Action – „We are a civil rights organization committed to ending discrimination against people with disabilities all disabilities. We fight to eliminate the barriers that prevent us from enjoying full equality in American society. Founded in 1970,DIA is a democratic, not-for-profit, tax-exempt, membership organization. DIA consists primarily of and is directed by people with disabilities. We believe in the motto, «Nothing about us without us»!”

Disabled People’s Association – „Our mission is to be the voice of persons with disabilities, working with them to achieve full participation and equal status in the society through independent living”.

Disabled People's International – „Disabled People's International is a network of national organizations or assemblies of disabled people, established to promote human rights of disabled people through full participation, equalization of opportunity and development”.

Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities – „The Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (FAIDD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that promotes good life, equality and participation for people with intellectual disabilities and others who need support with learning, understanding and communicating”.

Galloway's Society for the Blind – „Galloway's Society for the Blind was established in 1867 and since then has evolved and developed to provide a range of services to over 7000 Blind and Partially Sighted people across Lancashire and Sefton and a range of talking newspapers available nationally”.

Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities – „Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities (HBWD) is Illinois’ Medicaid Buy-In program authorized under the federal Ticket to Work - Work Incentives Improvement Act (TWWIIA). Currently, several other states have some version of a Medicaid Buy-In program allowing working individuals living with a disability to become insured with a medical card”.

International Association for Disability and Oral Health - „iADH are a group of people who are concerned about those with disabilities and disadvantages, working together with those in their community, professional society and social or service organization to improve the oral health and quality of life for persons with special needs”.

Invisible Disabilities Association - „The Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) encourages, educates and connects people and organizations touched by illness, pain and disability around the globe. Formerly known as The Invisible Disabilities Advocate, IDA was founded in 1997 and incorporated in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit”.

Muscular Dystrophy Association – The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the world’s leading nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases. Movement for the Intellectually Disabled – „Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) was founded in May 1962 by a group of philanthropists who saw the need to provide equal opportunities for children with intellectual disabilities to receive education and later, to be integrated as contributing and responsible citizens in Singapore”.

National Alliance on Mental Illness – NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.

National Association of the Deaf (NAD) – „The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is the nation's premier civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America”.

The National Autistic Society – „The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by autism. We want a world where all people living with autism get to lead the life they choose. We will transform understanding of autism and make sure everyone living with autism gets the support they need”.

National Council on Disability - „NCD is an independent federal agency charged with advising the President, Congress, and other federal agencies regarding policies, programs, practices, and procedures that affect people with disabilities. NCD is comprised of a team of fifteen Presidential appointees , an Executive Director appointed by the Chairman, and eleven, full-time professional staff”.

National Council on Independent Living – „The National Council on Independent Living is the longest-running national cross-disability, grassroots organization run by and for people with disabilities. Founded in 1982, NCIL represents thousands of organizations and individuals including: individuals with disabilities, Centers for Independent Living (CILs), Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs), and other organizations that advocate for the human and civil rights of people with disabilities throughout the United States”.

National Disability Navigator Resource Collaborative - „The mission of the National Disability Navigator Resource Collaborative (NDNRC) is to provide cross-disability information and support to Navigators and other enrollment specialists thereby ensuring people with disabilities receive accurate information when selecting and enrolling in insurance through the Affordable Care Act Marketplaces”.

National Down Syndrome Congress – „The National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1973. The NDSC is governed by a twenty-two member Board of Directors composed of parents and family members of individuals with Down syndrome, self-advocates and other individuals involved with people with Down syndrome”.

National Federation of the Blind – „The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) is the oldest, largest, and most influential nationwide membership organization of blind people in the United States. Founded in 1940, the NFB advocates for the civil rights and equality of blind Americans, and develops innovative education, technology, and training programs to provide the blind and those who are losing vision with the tools they need to become independent and successful”.

National Organization on Disability - „The National Organization on Disability (NOD) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the full participation and contributions of America’s 56 million people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Today, NOD focuses on increasing employment opportunities for the 79 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed”.

National Rehabilitation Association - „The National Rehabilitation Association seeks to be the premier organization nationwide connecting thousands of professionals in the area of vocational rehab. We are here to serve our members and provide them with up to date information on advocacy, issues and networking opportunities”.

Northern Ireland Deaf Youth Association – „We are the leading deaf youth charity in Northern Ireland, working to meet the current needs of deaf children and young people”.

Partnership for Health & Disability – „The Partnership for Health & Disability is a collaboration between public health and disability advocacy and service organizations on issues that surround health for people with disabilities in the state of Michigan”.

People with Disability Australia – „People with Disability Australia Incorporated (PWDA) is a national disability rights and advocacy organisation. Our primary membership is made up of people with disability and organisations primarily constituted by people with disability. We also have a large associate membership of other individuals and organisations committed to the disability rights movement”.

Rehab Group – „The Rehab Group is an independent international group of charities and commercial companies which works towards a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their potential. Society of Healthcare Professionals with Disabilities – „The Society of Healthcare Professionals with Disabilitiesprovides resources and support for disabled physicians, physician assistants, and students. The mission of the Society is to foster a supportive community and to provide resources and tools for disabled healthcare professionals and students, their family members, and their friends”.

Paraquad - „Paraquad is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people with disabilities to increase their independence through choice and opportunity. Founded in 1970 in St. Louis, Mo., by Max and Colleen Starkloff, we are one of the oldest non-residential Centers for Independent Living in the country”.

Rehabilitation International – „Founded in 1922, Rehabilitation International (RI) is a worldwide network of people with disabilities, service providers, government agencies, academics, researchers and advocates working to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. With member organizations in 100 countries and in all regions of the world, RI provides a forum for the exchange of experience and information on research and practice”.

Riding for the Disabled Association Australia – „Riding for the Disabled Association Australia (RDAA) is a voluntary, nonprofit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy stimulating, therapeutic, horse-related activities in Australia”.

Society for Disability Studies - „The Society for Disability Studies (SDS) is an international non-profit organization that promotes the study of disability in social, cultural, and political contexts. Disability Studies recognizes that disability is a key aspect of human experience, and that the study of disability has important political, social, and economic implications for society as a whole, including both disabled and nondisabled people”.

Association for People with Disability - „The Association for People with Disability (APD) is a Bangalore based organization working since 1959 for children, youth and adults with various types of disabilities — primarily those with physical disability, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, development delay, and speech and multiple disability. Our coverage extends to Tumkur, Kolar, Koppal and Haven i districts. We have linkages with voluntary organizations across south India and work with poor communities in and around Bangalore”.

The American Occupational Therapy Association – „In its simplest terms, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes”.

The Arc – „We are the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities”.

The European Disability Forum – „The European Disability Forum is an independent NGO that represents the interests of 80 million Europeans with disabilities. EDF is the only European platform run by persons with disabilities and their families. We are the front runner for disability rights. We are the voice of persons with disabilities in Europe”.
